Kasma storms onto second place in MotorLand

This weekend the Dynavolt Intact SIC Junior Team was in MotorLand Aragon for the fourth round of the FIM CEV Repsol 2019 Moto2 European Championship and the European Talent Cup. And the team took home some points and a trophy.

A very hot weekend with temperatures above 30°C was followed by rain on Sunday in MotorLand Aragon. This should be especially advantageous for one rider of the Dynavolt Intact SIC Junior Team!

MOTO2
Kasma Daniel Kasmayudin showed a sensational race on a wet track. The day before, the Malaysian had qualified for a strong sixth place on the second row of the grid and was the only rider to keep up with race winner Hector Garzo in the race, which was shortened to ten laps after a restart. With five laps to go, the 18-year-old even took the lead and had a lead of over a second when he was caught again by the Spaniard after a small mistake. A crash in the second race could not diminish the joy about the first podium of the Moto2 rookie at his only fourth event in this class.

Team-mate Matthias Meggle, who was struggling with a sore shoulder, made the most of a difficult starting position in two eventful races. In the first race, shortly after the start, there was a collision between three riders, one of them the 18-year-old Intact GP rider. He made it back into the pits, but not in time for the restart procedure. So the Bavarian had to be the last on the grid to start into the 10-lap race. A 15th place and a point were therefore a compensatory yield. Also in race two the youngster did as good as possible and secured P15 again.

In the overall European Championship ranking Kasmayudin has made the step to rank nine after seven races thanks to today's second place and Meggle goes into the summer break as 13th.

ETC
For the ETC riders Syarifuddin Azman and Harith Haziq Zamri, the learning process in their new class and on another new circuit in MotorLand went into the fourth stage. After Syarifuddin finished the two ETC races on the excellent places 12 & 11, teammate Harith was able to secure a great eleventh place in the Series 2 race.

The next challenge for the Dynavolt Intact SIC Junior team awaits after a two-month summer break on 29 September in Jerez de la Frontera.
